in 2003 with the purpose of identifying and coordinating
the projects in Urelu. This association not only manages
the projects under development but also will communicate

Computer skill is one of the essential
aspects in the world today and it has become essential
for any sort of development. There is no limit to
what can be achieved with a computer. Due to the two
decades of war many students unaware of what a computer
looks like. After the peace process the region is
being developing, computer is becoming an important
skill in all disciplines. Those in schools, in universities
and at work are all required to have knowledge of
computer nowadays. This project aims to fulfill this
need by providing computer-training center.
The project begins with the money
of Rs 172,300, which funded by United People Association
of Urelu, contributed by people in various activities.
The money contributed spent to buy two computers and
to organized a place as a computer lab.

The opening ceremony of the lab was
held in Jan 14th, 2004, Ponkal Day. The chief guest
for the ceremony was Hindu Affair Minster Maheswaran.
The good news is that Minister Maheswarn promised
to fund for six more computers. The basic computer
training center project plan appreciated by community
leaders. Currently more than forty students enrolled
in the first batch of classes. By this project the
whole community students will be benefiting the knowledge
of computers and will be ready to compete with the
rest of the country. We all should be proud of this
achievement. You still can contribute books and other
forms of help to keep on run this activity.
