Urelu has very rich red soil as the photo above. This kind of soil is very good for farming. You can grow any plants on this soil; you name it, potatoes, onions, banana's, grapes any vegetables. Residents of our village are mostly seasonal farmers and depend on this soil for generations. Hardworking on the farm used to be pay off well but not any more. The war has changed the situation, they are going through tough time, as marketing the products out of peninsula is not easier as used to be.
